Hike from Weissenstein to Grenchenberg
To the highest peak in the canton of Solothurn with incomparable views of the Mittelland and the Alps.
From Oberdorf, take the cable car up to Weissenstein. Follow the Planet Trail in the direction of Hinter Weissenstein and Althüsli. From Althüsli, it takes about 20 minutes to reach Hasenmatt.
Continue over the Stallflue to the Obergrenchenberg. Enjoy the Alpine panorama and the view of the Seeland with Lake Biel, Lake Neuchâtel and Lake Murten. From Obergrenchenberg, take the bus to Grenchen (note timetable) and the train back to Solothurn.
You can stop for refreshments en route at the Hinter Weissenstein or Althüsli mountain restaurants.

Difficult access to the hotel
From the beginning of November 2024, the access road to the hotel will be COMPLETELY closed for approx. 2-3 months. All service lines will be replaced. The hotel is ALWAYS accessible on foot. Noise nuisance from the construction site is not to be expected for hotel guests. The hotel rooms are on the other side of the building. If you arrive by car, we recommend driving directly to the Berntor multi-storey car park. This is only a 3-minute walk from the hotel, is open 24 hours a day and has disabled-friendly parking spaces and charging stations for electric cars.
