New railroad bridge in sight
New railroad bridge
The planning application for the replacement of the almost 100-year-old steel bridge was submitted at the beginning of October. If everything goes according to plan, the main work will start in the first quarter of 2026 and the new bridge should be open to traffic as early as spring 2027. The spectacular phase of removing the old steel bridge and inserting the new bridge is scheduled to take place during the complete closure of the Solothurn – Biel railroad line over Easter 2027.
We look forward to less noise for our guests!
